Welcome!

7 01 2008

Welcome to the blog for UTA’s HIST4366: The History of Colonial Latin America. As those of you who have had a class with me before will remember, I use a lot of information technology in teaching, with the goal of making learning and communication easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable. It usually works! I count on your feedback!

This blog will be the information center for the course. I recommend that you subscribe to the “blogfeed” [see "How to: Subcribe" above] so that you can automatically read new blog postings on your usual start page. Because of storage space and privacy requirements, there will also be important material [like your grades!] on WebCT, the closed UTA course system. I’ll let you know when that site is functional in a few days.

As for the syllabus, you can get a PDF version by clicking the link in the right-hand column of this blog. Of course, I’ll hand out a paper copy on Monday.

I’m looking forward to meeting you in class. If you’re curious about me and what I have planned for this semester, check out the links on the right, especially my home page. See you Monday night!
